Data Warehouses and Data Mining

A data warehouse is a repository of an organization's electronically stored data, designed to facilitate reporting and analysis. The means to retrieve and analyze data, to extract, transform and load data, and to manage the data dictionary are also considered essential components of a data warehousing system. As we have mentioned earlier, the data of the company is neither integrated nor centralized so they don’t have a data warehouse. However every department operates independently of one another and stores information relevant to them on their own. This way the data cannot be assessed by other parts of the organization and thus results in inefficiency and data redundancy. And furthermore Data mining is the process of extracting patterns from data, but as the data is not centralized in the company, data mining is not possible.
